About Celadon
Celadon is the French word that mean ‘glazed pottery like stone’. The property of Celadon is natural color enamel, free from neither synthetic color nor chemical substances. This enables the glossy green color on the product look glossy that you can see through the clay material inside. The enamel solution is the mixture of wood ash, one special kind of wood ash, one special kind of tree called ‘Mai Rok Fa’ and field soil.
Celadon then will be burnt at temperature of 1260 C until its color turns to indico blue. After left cool, the enamel surface will be shrink and later cost lot of stripes all over it. Those stripes miraculously become magnificent natural pattern which is the amazing uniqueness of Celadon.
